General Motors Place Event Tickets – North Of The Border Events In April
It’s a well-known fact that Canadians love their hockey, and there is no more passionate sports fan than a Canadian hockey fan. Hockey lovers north of the border are consistently clamoring to get General Motors Place event tickets to see the Vancouver Canucks hit the ice, and for good reason. The Canucks look like one of the stronger Western Conference teams this season and have their sights set on a deep playoff run.
As of March 25th, the Canucks sit firmly atop the Northwest standings, five points ahead of Colorado and nine points ahead of Calgary. If the regular season ended right now, the Canucks would land the third seed in the Western Conference and be matched up with Colorado in the first round of the postseason, which is why the two teams’ matchup on April 6th is so important. Not only is it a divisional game between the top two teams in the Northwest, but it’s a potential playoff preview.
The Canucks are led by the Sedin brothers, Henrik and Daniel. They possess a distinct advantage over any other duo in the NHL in that they know one another’s games so well. Henrik leads the team in points with 99, with Daniel amassing the second-highest point total to date with 74. The Sedin brothers are showing the rest of the league that they’re a tandem that is going to be very difficult to stop come playoff time.
When Colorado comes to town the energy in the arena is sure to be that of a playoff game. The Avalanche are a solid team that thrives on the passing skills of Paul Stastny. Stastny will be looking to set up goal-scorers like Chris Stewart and Matt Duchene when the Avalanche hit the ice on April 6th. If the Canucks can slow this trio down, they’ll have a good shot at securing the victory.
Another big matchup for Vancouver will take place two days before the Colorado game, when the Minnesota Wild visit the Canucks. Despite being a really good team at home this season, the Wild have struggled on the road. They’re a long shot to make the playoffs at this juncture, but they’ll surely be looking to play spoiler when they come to Vancouver. Led by Mikko Koivu and Andrew Brunette, the Wild boast a solid offensive attack that the Canucks will have to slow down with solid defense and disciplined goaltending. Every game down the stretch is important, and the best teams in hockey need to find ways to take down inferior opponents.
For those who like to attend concerts between hockey games, Adam Lambert will be coming to British Columbia for two nights in April. He’ll be performing at the Red Robinson Show Theatre in Coquitlam on April 8th and at the River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond the following night. Lambert is yet another singer to fall short of winning American Idol but go on to achieve considerable success in the music business due to his exposure on the show. If you liked what you saw out of him on season eight of the show, or you’ve been grooving to his 2009 release For Your Entertainment, then this is a great event to attend.
